Within an hour and a half’s drive from Lizio there are a number of golf courses which will suit all abilities of golf and give everybody a challenging and enjoyable round.

Golf courses in Brittany are not dissimilar to ones in the UK. To be certain of a round at the time and day you want it is always advisable to ring and book a time. If your french is not good, don’t worry, all the pro shops speak English.

The nearest—LAC AU DUC at PLOERMEL.

A challenging 9 hole course running alongside the largest inland lake in Brittany. The course is owned and maintained by the Hotel Roi Arthur and has varied and interesting holes (including a 500 yds plus par 5). Walking is easy as the course is mostly flat. In the summer, if the weather is hot and dry, the fairways can be a little hard. The cost in 2004 summer for the day (as many of few holes as you want) is equivalent to £25.00.

COURSES WITHIN TRAVELLING TIME 1hr 30 mins.

A company called Formule Golf has a number of 18 hole golf courses. They are all interesting courses and worth playing. Prices are seasonal with, as you would expect, the summer being the more expensive. In 2004, the highest prices work out at around £30 to £35 per round. However, they do have a discount system where you can buy a book of 3,5 or 10 tickets and play at any of their courses and is well worth it if you want to play more that the odd round. When you buy your book of tickets, if you know the other dates and times you would like to play, they will do all the tee time bookings from the one pro shop.
